Why Befriended Stranger

Mitko on Jan 23rd 2007

This blog is my humble attempt to journal through my spiritual search. As I grow through tests and difficulties, through reading and listening, I want to share my thoughts with the hope they might be of service to others. The photos used are taken by me, unless otherwise specified.

In the beginning, this blog used to be called Strannik which is a Bulgarian word loosely equivalent to a combination of Wanderer and Stranger in English. While at university, I lead a rock band was named Strannik. That band and the creativity that flew through its music was a big part of my life and my spiritual search. Nowadays, I relate to this word more closely through the following Hidden Words revealed by Baha’u'llah, the founder of the Baha’i Faith:

“O BEFRIENDED STRANGER!
The candle of thine heart is lighted by the hand of My power, quench it not with the contrary winds of self and passion. The healer of all thine ills is remembrance of Me, forget it not. Make My love thy treasure and cherish it even as thy very sight and life.”

Thanks for visiting! Thanks for walking with me along the spiritual path!

Mitko, I believe we met on the beach in Odessa. I knew you as Dimiter/Gary. I was with a group of Baha’is visiting in Odessa. Was it ninteen years ago already? We talked about the Baha’i Faith. Before i left you gave me a cook book. After i got back to Canada we wrote each other once or twice and then lost touch . . . God willing, i have found you again!
